The FIFA Executive Committee has lifted its suspension of the football association of the Southeast asian sultanate of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD, formerly BAFA) after ascertaining that the national association had fulfilled the conditions established by the FIFA Emergency Committee and approved statutes in line with the FIFA Statutes.
FIFA suspended the Football Association of Brunei (BAFA) at the Executive Committee meeting in Rio, Brazil back in September 2009 due to government interference in its affairs, which started with a decision by the Brunei authorities to dissolve the BAFA and to replace it with a new association in December 2008.
