Dick Advocaat tipped to be next coach of Australia

Former Netherlands and South Korea football coach Dick Advocaat will take charge of Australia's national men's team, the Socceroos, later this year, Australian newspapers have reported. The unconfirmed articles stated that Football Federation Australia concluded negotiations with Advocaat who will take up his new role when he completes contract commitments to Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg in November. Advocaat, who led the Netherlands to the quarterfinals of the 1994 World Cup and coached South Korea to its first away win in the World Cup finals in Germany last year, would succeed Australia's caretaker coach Graham Arnold. Arnold took over from Guus Hiddink, who guided Australia at the 2006 World Cup after having coached his native Netherlands to the '98 World Cup semifinals and South Korea to the semifinals in 2002.
