Uzbekistan further demoralised Asian Cup co-host Malaysia with a 5-0 scoreline in Kuala Lumpur. Dynamo Kiev's Maksim Shatskikh scored twice with Ulugbek Bakaev, Timur Kapadze and Aziz Ibragimov scoring a goal each. Both sides made wholesale changes but Malaysia struggled even to touch the ball in the opening minutes and it was no surprise when Uzbekistan opened the scoring early on.
