Thai EPL fans start to take notice of national team

Thailand Coach Chanvit Polchovin believes his country's first-ever Asian Cup win can become a turning point to help wean Thai fans off their infatuation with English Premier League and support the national team. A draw with regional power Australia on Monday may be enough to clinch a quarter-final berth. “This is an important turning point for Thai football to change the attitude of the Thai people and make them want to cheer their national team,” Chanvit told AFP. “So we hope we can do better even though we only have a semi-professional league. We have to make the Thai League into a real professional league.”
