Malaysia holds dominant Iran to only 2-0 win

Iran, seeking its first Asian Cup title in 31 years, met Malaysia playing its first tournament since 1980 by virtue of co-hosting the event, in Kuala Lumpur in their last game of the 2007 Group C. The top-ranked Asian team were expected to have a goal-feast against the home side but sufficed with a 2-0 result - a 29th-minute penalty by Javad Nekounam and classy work from Bolton Wanderers midfielder Andranik Teymourian in the 77th minute.
