Maradona postpones Asian tour after leaving clinic

Argentine football legend Diego Maradona has postponed his Asian tour to give him time to recover from his recent stint in a rehabilitation clinic, an Argentine embassy official told AFP. Maradona, 46, was due to head to Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand next week, but the tour has been postponed until late June after his treatment for alcohol abuse, the official said. "He needs time for physical therapy in order to recover from his treatment for alcoholism," the embassy source said, adding that no new dates for the tour have yet been set. He was hospitalised earlier in April for hepatitis linked to heavy drinking and was released from a Buenos Aires clinic on 6 May.
