Japan may oppose AFC stand on Man United tour

Japan Football Association chief Saburo Kawabuchi has reportedly called criticism of Manchester United’s July tour of Asia “unbalanced.” According to Nikkan Sports daily, Kawabuchi said the Asian Football Confederation over-reacted by calling on the English champions to change the tour dates. “I think breaking contracts would be more of a problem,” Kawabuchi said, referring to United’s four matches across the region from 17 to 27.July. “The AFC’s stance is too unbalanced. Are Japanese clubs not allowed to play against the top clubs in the world?”
