Indonesian FA under attack from sports media

Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) Chairman Nurdin Halid was challenged by speakers at a media conference to defend the FA's record over the past five years. Organised by national newspaper Kompas and sports newspaper Bola, the event held at the Row Front restaurant in Jakarta was to promote the forthcoming Saturday seminar on the problem of building professionalism in national football.

"We challenged Nurdin Halid to detail any achievements PSSI has carried out for football," said expert in mass communication, Effendi Gazali who will be one of the seminar speakers. The head of the Kompas sports desk, Anton Sanjoyo asked how football clubs that relied on the regional welfare budgets of local governments could be referred to as professional.
