Jamaica has been confirmed to take on Asian Cup 2007 co-hosts Indonesia in a friendly next month in Solo. The Indonesian national team which is currently in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, until the end of the month will take on Jamaica on 21 June at the Stadion Manahan in Solo, Central Java. The match follows the cancellation of the earlier planned game against Uruguay in a test match at the venue of the Asian Cup 2007, Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno, on 6 June. Instead, the Indonesia national team will play Hong Kong on 1 June and then Singapore two days later at Bung Karno.
Another friendly game has been planned for 30 June, probably against United Arab Emirates at the Stadion Maguwoharjo in Sleman, Yogyakarta, although the possibility of other international matches as part of the run-up programme will depend on the match fees requested. The team which started their camp last week in Kalimantan will play against local clubs first until the end of the month before moving on to harder opponents as they progress through the towns of Surabaya and Malang and on until they reach Jakarta.
