Japan football conference looks at Asia's Future

The fifth Japan Football Conference has opened in Osaka with 800 local coaches and 30 international participants in attendance. The three-day biennial event includes presentation on the FIFA World Cup 2006 by FIFA Technical Study Group chief Holger Osieck; UEFA Technical Study by Andy Roxburgh, Technical Director UEFA; AFC Technical Study by Hong Kong's Ka Ming Kwok, Member of Technical Study Group, FIFA; and Recapitulation of World Cup and Asia's Future by Japan Football Association Secretary General Kohzo Tashima and Technical Director Takeshi Ono.

“The Japan Football Association faced difficult times from the sixties to eighties. But this was also the time when they learnt a lot. I would like to congratulate them on their hard work and also applaud the 800 participants who have come here to upgrade their knowledge, share experiences and take some back to their teams.”, former Asian Football Confederation General Secretary Dato Peter Velappan, who is Project Director of Vision Asia, said in his keynote speech reported by AFCMedia.
