Indonesian ANTV broadcasting network has won the bidding for Indonesia's professional league for 10 years. According to the Indonesia League Committee (BLI) of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), the licence value accepted for the contract period is Rp 100 billion (about US1 million) and was won against the Media Nusantara Citra group which only bargained for a one-year term. BLI chairman, Nirwan Dermawan Bakrie told the PSSI website that ANTV with share its broadcast rights with Lativi.
During the 2007 Indonesian Premier League season commencing on 3 February, 36 clubs will compete in two equal divisions. The first leg will end on 29 April because of preparation for the Asian Cup which Indonesia is hosting in July. The competition's second leg will start on 4 August and conclude on 2 December. BLI Director Andi Darussalam Tabusalla said an eight round final series will then be played followed by semi-finals and the Grand Final played at the national stadium on 22 December.
A new 18 club Super League will be introduced above the Premier League from 2008.
