Australian U-23 squad for 2008 Olympic campaign

Football Federation Australia has announced a 24-player squad that will begin preparations for the 2008 Beijing Olympic qualifying campaign. All bar three of the squad are contracted to A-League clubs. Newly appointed national under-23 coach and FFA technical director Robert Baan has been reviewing footage of eligible players and has announced a squad that will attend a three-day training camp at the AIS next week. Australia's Olympic qualifying campaign will commence with home and away clashes with Chinese Taipei on 7 and 14 February. The winner will progress to Group D of round two qualification alongside Iran, Saudi Arabia and either Jordan or Kyrgyzstan, with the first match against Iran to be played away on 28 February.
