AFC rules on new coach qualifications from 2010

The Asian Football Confederation Technical Committee, meeting under the chairmanship of Kwok Ka Ming of Hong Kong, has decided to allow only those coaches who possess an AFC ‘B’ certificate to coach in AFC competitions from 2010 onwards. No other certificate will be accepted in lieu of the AFC ‘B’ certificate and the proposal takes effect three years hence in order to allow the coaches to qualify and secure a ‘B’ certificate. The AFC Technical Committee decided to implement more stringent quality control measures for the technical programs and courses conducted by member associations and bring them in line with the AFC’s Coach Education Policy. According to AFCMedia, the Technical Committee also reviewed the Vision Asia program and found it was going "from strength to strength".
