Vision Vietnam prepares new Long An League

A two-day Vision Vietnam project, Long An club development and competition management workshop was held in Long An, Vietnam, in preparation for the Long An Provincial League, being launched in March 2007. There were for 39 participants, many of whom were from the province's district sports associations. Key officials from Long An FA, Vietnam Football Federation, and the V-League club Dong Tam Long An also attended.

The objectives of the workshop were to inform the clubs of the best international practices in club development and competition management, to identify the issues facing the development of clubs in Long An and to help prepare them for the Provincial League. The workshop was conducted through a mixture of lectures, discussions, working groups, and presentations by the participants. It covered all areas of club and competition management, including the principles of club development and competitions, establishment of the District FAs, sponsorship, match organization, and financial management.

It was agreed that each district would established its own Football Association and that the clubs would be based in each of these associations. AFC Vision Asia is confident of a very successful Long An Provincial League, AFCMedia reported. AFC C Certificate Course and Referee Course will follow the workshop.
