AFC prepares co-hosts for Asian Cup marketing

Attending the two-day Asian Cup preparation workshop in Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, Asian Football Confederation deputy general secretary Carlos Nohra told delegates the AFC will create favourable media coverage conditions for the Asian Cup’s four co-hosts, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. He announced the AFC’s next marketing representative, the World Sports Group, will take over telecast rights at the Asian Cup and detailed promotion activities and appropriate ticket prices to attract a higher number of spectators for the football matches.

Asian football’s premier international football competition runs from 4-29 July next year, when 16 teams will compete in four groups in two legs of the qualifying round. Bangkok was selected for the opening ceremony and kick-off game on 7 July while the two semi-finals will take place in Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur, with the final in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, on 29 July.

According to VFF general secretary, Tran Quoc Tuan, hosting the cup is a chance for Vietnam to gain experience and improve its competitive edge.
