Singapore school adds Saturday football Academy

Singapore's Siglap Secondary School has launched its own Soccer Academy with former national and Malaysia Cup-winning coach Jita Singh as training director. It also boasts several ex-international players on its staff. Affiliated to the Football Association of Singapore, the academy aims to develop and nurture the 'complete' football player and is open to boys and girls aged 6 to 16 years. Training is held every Saturday from 8 am to 10 am. To date there are 160 boys and girls engaged with the academy. It is a three-pronged approach involving the parent, the teacher and the coach. Parents will be invited to seminars, workshops and dialogue sessions and affiliate themselves in the total development of the football player.
