Philippines delay South East Asian Games draw

The Philippines has postponed the draw for the SEA Games football tournament to 3 November. The draw was originally to be held on 27 October in Manila. Secretary-general of the Football Association of Thailand, Worawi Makudi, told the Bangkok Post he had been informed that the draw for all team sports had been moved back. However, he said as far as he knew, the opening football match would take place as originally planned on 20 November, a week before the rest of the SEA Games start. Mr Worawai said he had been told that the stadium in Baccolod City, where Thailand will be playing their opening matches, had been renovated and the pitch was in good condition. Asian Football Confederation representatives will inspect the stadium early in November.
